Firas Al Shakarchi was born in Baghdad, Iraq but grew up in the United Arab Emirates. Having lived in Canada and completed his medical studies in Dublin he has immersed himself in both western and middle eastern culture. Since childhood, Firas always wanted to become an actor often describing acting as his escape and passion. He is an artist as much as he is a scientist as he is also a musician/songwriter and a hip hop dancer. Upon completing medical school he began attending acting workshops and applying for acting jobs. Within a year of pursuing acting he landed multiple commercial roles as well as roles in short films and feature films, the most recent of which he played the character of Paul in The Misfits movie starring Pierce Brosnan and Tim Roth.
