Eugene Mazzola was born in Hollywood, California, to a large family, all in the film business. He is the sixth of seven children. His father was Leonard Al Mazzola, who started in Vaudeville. His mother was Saveria Mazzola, Le Parrain, 2ᵉ partie (1974). His family is steeped in the motion picture industry. Eugene started working in the business at an early age as Anthony Caruso baby in Quand la ville dort (1950). He did a few movies and some TV before being cast in Les dix commandements (1956) opposite Yul Brynner as the Pharaoh Rameses' son, Rameses III. After The Ten Commandments, Mazzola used the stage name Eugene Mazzola and had a very successful career as a child actor. He joined SAG in 1964. Mazzola served in the Navy from 1968 to 1970. He was stationed on the Mekong River and in Da Nang, Vietnam. When he returned from Vietnam, he served as a photo journalist for the Navy in San Diego. After the Navy, Mazzola returned to Hollywood where he went to college and continued acting. In 1972, he started working behind the camera. Mazzola produced his first film, Joyride (1977) in 1976, the same year he joined the DGA. Mazzola moved with his young family to Seattle, Washington in 1981. He started Seattle Cine Rentals in 1984. Within a few years it was the largest G&E equipment company north of Los Angeles with shops in Seattle, Portland and Spokane. He owned and operated the company until 1993 when he sold it to Pacific Grip and Lighting. He has never stopped ADing, Production Managing and Producing films.
