Ethan Kaplan was born in Marshalltown, Iowa to an attorney and educator. His parents grew up in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Iowa so his father could attend Drake Law School. Following his parent's divorce when Ethan was 7, he moved to West Des Moines, Iowa where he lived until 1998, when he moved to Ames, Iowa to attend college at Iowa State University. Ethan majored in design and took a few acting courses. In 2003, Ethan graduated with a Bachelor's of Fine Arts from ISU and went on to law school at Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. After graduating law school in 2006, he began practicing law back in Marshalltown, Iowa and eventually moved to Hutchinson, Kansas with his wife and daughter to practice law there. He became involved with the Family Community Theatre in Hutchinson and began appearing on stage in a variety of shows for FCT and other community theaters. Each year, Hutchinson, Kansas is renamed to Smallville, Kansas after the fictional birthplace of Clark Kent/Superman. Ethan portrays Superman at the annual Smallville festival and annual Smallville Con, Hutchinson's own pop-culture and comic book celebration. Show less «
