Eryn Korby got her start in the music business at the age of 19 as an intern in the the publicity department of Mercury Records, on a summer break from Boston's Emerson College. After the summer she was tapped as Publicity Coordinator for the new record label Wind-Up Records, to work on the release of Creed's first album My Own Prison in 1997.She transferred to New York University to complete her education in 1998, graduating in 2000 with a B.A. in specialized Sociology from NYU's eclectic Gallatin School. While finishing her degree she worked in the publicity department of DelsenerSlater, New York's largest concert promoter. Upon graduation from NYU Korby was hired on to work as an assistant to Mitch Slater, who was Robert F.X. Sillerman's VP at SFX, as well as co-CEO of DelsenerSlater alongside legendary New York promoter Ron Delsener. In 2001 SFX was sold to Clear Channel Entertainment and Korby moved on to work with Evolution Talent Agency President David Zedeck, handling day-to-day national and international touring correspondence and contracts for the likes of Britney Spears, *NSYNC, P.Diddy, and the Backstreet Boys at the height of their success. In addition to her day jobs in New York, Korby also booked and promoted rock and roll parties and music business events in downtown NYC, acting as somewhat of a downtown ambassador to the music industry, working with managers and agents who wanted to showcase their new buzz band in a hip downtown setting. She was also responsible for bringing the first weekly Saturday night rock party to the basement of the now-famous Lit Lounge. Korby decided to move to Las Vegas and start her own business in 2003, with hopes of continuing her cutting edge, independent promotions. In Vegas Korby continued to promote gritty nightlife events but also shifted her focus towards working with trade show and media clients from NYC and L.A., as well as television productions filming in Sin City. She has been featured on A&E's Caesar's: 24/7, Spike TV's "Inked," and she can be seen squiring celebrity chef and author Anthony Bourdain around town in the Vegas episode of his hit show "No Reservations" on the Travel Channel. She worked in a marketing capacity for several pop culture clients including Rock of Ages: The Musical (Las Vegas run), and the launch of the Las Vegas franchise of Beauty Bar. She also served as Production Coordinator for Beacher's Madhouse (2003) and Prince: 3121 at The Rio (2006-2007). Korby worked in several production capacities from 2004-2009 in Las Vegas, including Production Manager, Casting Associate, and Field Producer for dozens of reality shows and live productions. In 2007 Korby finished writing Truly Outrageous! The Musical, based on the 1980's Hasbro cartoon series Jem and The Holograms. A lifelong Jem fan, she began writing the script while working at Evolution Talent Agency in 2002. During a 2007 meeting with the Girls' Marketing Department at HASBRO in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, HASBRO execs expressed interest in reviving the Jem brand, but ultimately nothing transpired. In 2010 Korby moved back to NYC after the massive economic downturn wreaked havoc on Vegas' denizens. She worked on Season 10 of Project Runway and Season 3 of Jerseylicious, and also served as Senior Producer for experiential clients at Method Models. After 15 years as an Entertainment Industry freelancer, Korby, who comes from a Real Estate family, chose a new career path in 2012 and is now a licensed Real Estate Professional in both New York and New Jersey. She also frequently travels to her hometown of Detroit as an investment liaison to those seeking to purchase property in this up and coming market. Naturally she is also working on Real Estate-related media and events for creative clientele at www.gocreative.space. Show less «
