Eric Brader grew up in York, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Alice Cogley Brader and William Hayden Brader, both deceased. He graduated from York Suburban High School. He then attended the University of Pittsburgh graduating with honors in biochemistry. He went on to attend medical school at the University of Pittsburgh. He then completed a residency in emergency medicine at Allegheny General Hospital, where he served as chief resident in his final year of training. He received his research training at the Safar Center from 3 time Nobel Prize nominee, Peter Safar, father of CPR. Dr. Brader has won awards for his research for seminal work in treating cardiac arrest victims with hypothermia. He also developed the world's first out of hospital cath lab activation system, which serves the model for the American Heart Association standard. He is currently working with the Carnegie Mellon National Robotics Center to develop innovative medical devices. He is a founder of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine.Dr Brader had not played a single acting role since the 5th grade, playing Lord North in a made for elementary school Revolutionary War drama of which the name escapes him, when he was discovered on the set of "Those Who Kill" pilot. He was given a speaking part and was allowed perform CPR on a Hollywood starlet and throw the bad guy against the wall. But alas, 99% of Dr. Brader's high nuanced and expert portrayal of himself ended up on the cutting room floor. Show less «
