Emmi Shockley is an American actor and filmmaker. She was born Emily Paige Shockley on June 16th, 1997 in Maryland. Her dreams of breaking into the entertainment industry always felt far-fetched for the teenager working in her family's boardwalk pub in the small beach-town of Ocean City. This all changed when she was cast in Michael Tully's Sundance 2015 feature film, Ping Pong Summer alongside Susan Sarandon, Lea Thompson, and John Hannah. She played the quirky, Slurpee-drinking love-interest of the protagonist, Rad Miracle (Marcello Conte). The film was met with success at Sundance and Emmi was named Interview Magazine's Discovery of the Issue. The film continues to boast a diverse following from cult-classic fans. After this experience, Emmi's dedication to acting and filmmaking was solidified. After the release of Ping Pong Summer, Shockley returned to high school full-time but did not lose her creative momentum. She and her brother (surf filmmaker Tate Shockley) created the Ombrophilous Films Group: an experimental student collaboration of musicians, filmmakers, and graphic designers. With education of high priority to Emmi and her family, she began at Fordham University in 2015 where she studied Film and Television Production. During her senior year of high school and time at Fordham, her short films garnered recognition both locally and internationally throughout the student film circuit. We Regret To Inform You, a short film starring Tony Award Winner David Alvarez, gained multiple awards and nominations as it traveled through the levels of the national competition Campus Movie Fest. Shockley completed three semesters at Fordham University before deciding to temporarily step away in order to turn her focus back to acting professionally.Emmi Shockley has continued her acting training with Studio 4, Tania Badiyi's Meisner Technique Studio, and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. She is based in New York City and represented by Emma Lewis of Paradigm.
