Emily H. Gilson was born and raised in Washington, DC to a mother who is herself a former actor and a father whose close cousin was the late radio and TV actor Billy Idelson, who played Herman Glimscher on The Dick Van Dyke Show and wrote for shows like The Twilight Zone.She began acting in school productions at the age of 5, making her stage debut in a drama class as a Wild Thing in Where the Wild Things Are.Emily holds a double BA in her two big loves, Theatre and Medieval History, from Purchase College SUNY, and returned to DC upon graduation to continue her training.She has studied at the Studio Theatre Acting Conservatory, founded by Joy Zinoman, since 2012, as well as at Signature Theatre in Arlington, VA.In addition to acting, she spends many of her days as a Visitor Services and Tourism associate at a famous, historic DC theatre.
