New York-based actress Elana Safar has appeared on TV's "Quantico," "The Blacklist," and "Damages," as well as the award-winning series, "Small Miracles" starring Judd Hirsch and Kathryn Kates. She was praised as an "emerging, well-schooled actress" for her performance in the indie film "Rowen." On the comedy side, she recently wrapped filming on two shorts, "Petty Therapy" (which she produced and wrote), as well as the screwball musical,"The Secret Song of Walter Bitty."Developmental play readings include "A Tomato Can't Grow in the Bronx" opposite Brooke Shields and "Hanky Panky" opposite Tovah Feldshuh. Other works include the original rock musical, "Soul Searching" with the New York Musical Theater Festival.While completing her M.A. in Theatre at NYU, Elana trained with Steinhardt's renowned program in Vocal Performance and starred as Elizaveta Grushinskaya in "Grand Hotel." The production was helmed by international director Dallet Norris, attended by its legendary creators, Tommy Tune and Maury Yeston, and praised by Broadway.com's Paul Wontorek.Elana also graduated from Brandeis University and is an alumnus of Terry Knickerbocker's Meisner conservatory.
