Drew was born in Toronto, Canada. He grew up in north Toronto with his parents and three brothers. He attended Albert College in Belleville, Ontario where he excelled as a local hockey player. He went to Brock University in St. Catharines, Ontario where he majored in visual arts before changing to drama in his third year. Post secondary life led him to local theatre where, for a decade, he starred in numerous productions. In 2003, Drew became a professional actor in Toronto. He now lives north of Toronto with his wife and two children.
