Born in Los Angeles, California, attended Alexander Hamilton High graduating in 1984. Father Lee Shamburger was also a Sound Technician/Boom Operator in the film industry and was responsible for starting Douglas' career in Sound. Being in production sound also led to a career in voice-overs while working as playback operator on the film "Doctor Dolittle".
