Born in Philadelphia but raised in Chicago.Received a B.S in Marketing from Illinois State University in 1996.Worked in sales and marketing for 8 years before moving to Hollywood to attend graduate school at The American Film Institute.Graduated in 2007 with an M.F.A in Film Producing.One older sibling (Peter Shaffer).The film "Raiders of the Lost Ark", inspired him to become a filmmaker.
