Dorothy (Fay) Kocsi is a Hungarian born in Sydney and now residing in Canberra who began dancing at age six learning; classical ballet, jazz, Broadway, contemporary, ballroom and low levels of tap. At age seventeen she sustained an injury that made her cut back from full time dance to part time dance teaching. She began acting in 2011 during college during which time she portrayed Hamlet in "Dogg's Hamlet". She also began doing amateur productions (predominantly musicals) where she met her future director. She began studying journalism at the University of Canberra with a major in architecture and design in 2011 until she was invited to transfer to a Bachelor in Media Arts and Production due to her successful directing, which she accepted with a major in Journalism .
