Dorly Jean-Louis is a talented and dedicated Canadian Actress, Model, Host and Producer. She was born on the island of Hispaniola in the Capital City of Port-au-Prince, Republic of Haïti. Her love for acting began while assisting film students with their movie projects and volunteering as a Reporter and Host for campus newspapers, television and radio stations. She launched her acting career with a leap of faith, a dream and belief in her aptitudes. Fluent in French, English and Creole, her success in the business over the past decade continues and is sustained in part by her dedication to nurture her craft. Admittedly her training in Broadcast Journalism gives her a competitive edge. While working as a Reporter, Anchor and Host of First Local, a news program in Toronto, she was cast as a TV News Anchor in Missing, a Reporter in Vacation With Derek and as a Journalist in Daniel's Daughter. Her credits extend from television series to critically acclaimed feature films as well as Canadian and US national commercials. Dorly is a performer to watch as she continues to make a name for herself in a very cut-throat industry where opportunities for women of color are extremely competitive. At ease in front of a live audience, she modeled the latest fashion trends on CBC's Steven and Chris lifestyle show and was one of the recurring on-air models on Canada's national network The Shopping Channel. From film sets to the runway you will find Dorly doing the catwalk modeling luxurious designer gowns at Canada's Bridal Show, The Total Wedding Show and Weddings By Design fashion shows. From being the Cover Girl on Norma Jarrett's novel The Sunday Brunch Diaries to the featured model on the cover of Pride Magazine, her face is familiar one. From billboards, to flyers, catalogs, print ads and lucrative multinational new media campaigns, Dorly has worked for some of the world's largest brands, clients and global advertisers: Vichy, Neutrogena, Wachovia, Verizon, Lexmark, Samsung, Reitmans, Sears, The Bay, Smashbox Cosmetics, P&G, Heineken, Anheuser-Busch, Johnson & Johnson, Essence and Ebony magazines, to name a few.Dorly is a member of the prestigious Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (ACCT) and is represented by affiliate professional industry unions: Alliance of Canadian Cinema Television and Radio Artists (ACTRA), Screen Actor's Guild (SAG) and l'Union Des Artistes (UDA). She holds a Canadian Fashion Designer Diploma from the Richard Robinson Fashion Design Academy, a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours in Mass Communication from the University of Ottawa and a Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast And Print Journalism from Humber College School of Media Studies.
