Dimitris Petakos has a PhD in History of Science. He studied History and Philosophy of Science (BA and MA) at the University of Athens and finished his BA in the Department of Communication, Media, and Culture of Panteion University. He is the scriptwriter and narrator of three History of Science documentaries: "Copernicus, Brahe, Kepler: Tree great Astronomers" (2011), the award-winning "Galileo: Fighting in the Dawn of Modern Science" (2013) and the award-winning "Newton: The Force of God" (2016). Since the September of 2015 he implements educational programs, concerning the History of Science, at Aikaterini Laskaridis Foundation. Since the September of 2016, he is one of the chief editors of the journal "Prisma", which is published with the newspaper "Avgi". He is also a Researcher in European projects concerning education and construction of Public Image of Science. Until the November of 2016, he was working at Eugenides Foundation where he was designing and implementing educational programs based on the History and Philosophy of Science and Technology, Science Communication and Public Understanding of Science and Technology. In the past he was a columnist for Science Illustrated magazine and a Radio producer in the show What's Up Doc?, aiming at informing the public about the latest developments in Science and Technology.
