De Wayne Cox is a talented and accomplished producer of video, film and television production. He has extensive experience in the production and post-production of broadcast and cable television programming. The Penn State alum began his production career in 1984 and landed a staff position in the Summer Olympics, which lasted for over 8 years. In 1995, De Wayne founded Meltdown Entertainment, a full-service film and television production company, which initially specialized in music video production. Under the Meltdown umbrella, De Wayne produced and directed an array of music videos for major record labels, such as MCA Music, Sony, Motown, A&M and Atlantic Records. De Wayne went on to produce and/or direct a slate of 6 different programming series for Viacom's BET Action Pay-Per-View Network. He also provided the post-production for 90% of the network's original programming. De Wayne developed and produced original programming for the home video market such as Funny Futhermuckers in Concert Volumes 1 and 2; a series of hilarious stand-up comedy performances.De Wayne Cox also produced a wide range of projects such as special events and video productions for major corporations and the entertainment industry such as, documentaries, commercials, industrials, major events, and corporate image videos. Some of his clients include Shell Oil Company, Lawry's Foods, The City of Los Angeles, The State of California, Southern California Air Quality Management District, CBS, ABC/Disney, The University of Southern California, Denzel Washington, Debbie Allen, NFL Football, The LA84 Olympic Foundation, The US Olympic Committee and NCAA Football.One of DeWayne's most personally gratifying endeavors has been the co-founding of the Youth n Play Foundation, with the objective of introducing the arts and cultural diversity to inner-city youth. Youth n' Play produced several stage plays such as Hello Dolly and Hair, as well as, the annual Winter Wonderland Parade and Carnival (a 2 day job-fair, parade, entertainment festival with rides and exhibits and gift give-away for over 50,000 participants). Another component of the program was to utilize seasoned instructors and entertainment industry professionals to provide real-world job training for our urban youth. Along those same lines, he recently served as a Producer on the feature film After School. DeWayne is a dialysis patient but is still dedicated to his craft. His latest projects include a documentary about kidney disease to raise awareness of the growing epidemic amongst minorities and to help prevent it through education.
