Devon began his acting career in local theater. In September, 2008, at the age of ten, he debuted in the role of Fat Sam in the Montgomery County (PA) Cultural Center production of Bugsy Malone, Jr. On the strength of that performance he was picked up by VS Talent of Mount Holly, NJ. Devon's first paid jobs were with Activity TV Jr, where he played the lead in the Rock & Roll Birthday Party episode. Around that time he also appeared as an extra in Law Abiding Citizen with Jamie Foxx, as the lead in a number of short films, and he began auditioning in New York for Robin Dornbaum of JGD Talent.In 2009 Devon began studying with Jimmy Carr at Plaza 7 Talent in King of Prussia, PA. That summer he attended the week-long International Modeling and Talent Association event in New York where he received several awards and came to the attention of Sid Gold of Goldstar Talent Management (New York). Several Los Angeles agents and managers also showed interest in working with Devon. He was encouraged to come to LA for pilot season. That autumn he began working for Goldstar through New York agents such as Abrams Artists, Innovative Artists, and Generation TV. He also continued to book jobs in the Philadelphia area. By winter he had signed with Goldstar.In 2010 he booked his first national commercial, a radio and TV voice over for Walmart. This was followed by a live TV appearance on Nickelodeon's World Wide Day of Play and a print job for Dell Interactive Learning.2011 saw national on-camera commercials for Sylvan Learning Center and Sprint. Since then Devon has appeared as Darnell West in the Spelling Bee episode of TBS's Are We There Yet?; Jamal in Rodney Evans' The Happy Sad; Tween Boy in The Dreaming Tree Foundations's The Stream; Eric in Warner Brothers' Run All Night; and Eli, his first feature lead, in George LaVoo's Juvie.Devon is a member of SAG-AFTRA. In addition to Jimmy Carr, he has studied with Philip Jacobson (Philadelphia) and Diane Hardin (New York).In December 2012 Devon was featured in a two-page article in The Norristown Times Herald detailing his acting career and musical activities. Along with his acting, he is very active as a music composer, performer and producer, working with a wide array of talent including fellow student, adult and professional musicians, singers and rappers, including T. Aiken, rappers Nova-Cain and Lewis King, bassist Allen Reynolds, and his father, saxophonist Dan O'Brien.
