Delores Harris, also known as Lady Dee, began singing at the tender age of 4 in the church choir. She began singing professionally at the age of 15, accompanied by her father and cousin (both deceased) to venues where she was not of legal age to enter alone.Later as a member of the group Everlife, Lady Dee was signed to and recorded on the eventually defunct record label 20th Century Fox. She continued on to perform and tour with other bands and as a solo artist. Lady Dee served for many years in the field of education as an elementary and middle school principal, where she was known as Dr. Harris. She sang for her students and brought international, national and local recording artists, actors and actresses to also share with and motivate students.In addition to recently singing the National Anthem for The Detroit Pistons and Detroit Tigers, Lady Dee has performed in venues that include TV dance shows The Scene & R.J. Watkins's The New Dance Show, luxury hotels & nightclubs, Cobo Hall, Hart Plaza Summer Festivals, North America International Auto Show, Music Hall, Jazz Café, Bert's Market place, Casinos-MGM, Greektown, and Motor City. She has traveled to perform in a plethora of cities in the Canadian Provinces of Ontario, Quebec and Nova Scotia. During her experiences as an entertainer, she has forged friendships with Stevie Wonder, The Calloways, who she performed with recently, the members of Midnight Star as well as notable songwriters and producers.Lady Dee, is a well-rounded entertainer, who also pursues acting as a career. She has acted in several stage plays, internet tv shows, films and has even participated in workshops held by Robin Givens and Hollywood Stuntwoman, Kathy Jarvis - always ready to grow in the craft. However, her love of and focus on her vocal gift transforms her performances into heartfelt tones and messages enjoyed by all who partake! In August of 2012 she was nominated as Detroit Black Music Awards' Best Female R&B Vocalist of the Year!The Lady Dee cd single release, My Funny Valentine, is a cover of a standard that draws the listener into sultry vocal workings that tastefully tell a story. The single, as well as the upcoming cd is a project that is a long time coming.
