Deance Wyatt was born July 19, 1986 at Kaiser Hospital in Hollywood, California. As a child he showed unusual natural prowess in nearly every sport he tried and all forms of the performing arts. His mother was a single parent and plays a pivotal role in the optimism and enthusiasm Deance exhibits today. She always managed to keep him out of trouble by keeping him busy, often taking off from work to take him to auditions. While completing Crenshaw High School (where he was crowned Homecoming King, played varsity baseball, and voted best dancer and most likely to succeed), Deance worked as a child actor, landing featured appearances on popular television shows such as Disney's Lizzie McGuire, and Judging Amy starring Amy Brenneman.Deance briefly attended the prestigious Clark Atlanta University and studied Television and Film with a minor in Business Administration. He was the first freshman in the history of the university to be given a lead role in one of the schools highly regarded Theatrical Club plays. After receiving a standing ovation for his performance in the clubs rendition of Dreamgirls, legendary Dr. Cornell West approached Deance to tell him to stick with it as he was headed for stardom! A few other theatrical plays that Deance starred in includes "Happy Anniversary Punk" directed by Micheal Ajakwe, "For the Love of Freedom" directed by Ben Guillory, "Keep Movin' On" and "U Don't Know Me, The Musical" both written and directed by Mark E. Swinton.Deance left Clark Atlanta in 2006 when he was picked from his real-life classroom and cast to star as one of three teenagers whose lives are changed in the Motion Picture "Freedom Writers". Deance is embracing his new role as movie star with his typical humility, though it seemed destined from the start. Show less «
