De Lovan Zandy is a Kurdish Australian film director, producer, writer, and actor. He developed a passion for filmmaking during his adolescence whilst watching Kurdish films and learning of the political struggles facing Kurdish filmmakers in the industry. Although De Lovan is a practicing psychologist, he has maintained his presence in the film industry since 2012 when he co-directed and produced his first independent film Heli Sur (Redline) with a long-time friend and cinematographer, Tariq Hewleri. De Lovan has expressed his interest in merging his passions of filmmaking with psychology by producing films that discuss difficult or disregarded topics in society and raise awareness on mental health. His breakthrough acting role in Australia is Here Out West, and his first debut feature film Sewe is due to be released in 2022. Show less «
