David Towne was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Marci Anne Reddick, an attorney active in local politics, and Stephen Edgar Towne, a Civil War historian. His ancestry is English, German, and Scots-Irish. David's upbringing was spent drawing and playing sports. Encouragement from teachers at Lawrence North High School, experience as editor and anchor of the daily news program, and success as captain of the speech and debate team led David to try acting. He moved to Illinois to study theatre and political science at Loyola University Chicago. In college, David became a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity, acted in stage productions, and studied abroad in Rome and London. After graduating with honors, he became active in Chicago storefront theatre and studied improvisation a the iO Theatre. In 2018, David was accepted into the Art of Acting Studio's two-year professional conservatory. He is now based in Los Angeles, California. Other schools include: The London Dramatic Academy, Acting Studio Chicago, Vagabond School of the Arts (Chicago), Green Room Studios (Chicago), and the Actor's Training Center (Wilmette, IL).
