David Imani is a Swedish actor of Persian descent. The son of an artist father, David helped write and translate his first ever stage performance at the age of 13. It was a musical comedy with a multi-ethnic cast, about an Iranian family adapting to the Scandinavian customs of their new country. At 15, David found a great interest in the sport of boxing when joining a boxer friend to the gym one day. Though he never intended to pursue it professionally, boxing has been a routine part of David's life since then. His first appearance in a film was a co-starring role in Borderline (1995), a feature length docudrama directed by Charlie Kristiansson. During his high school years as a theatre major, David enjoyed the mentorship of his theatre arts teacher, renowned Swedish author and dramatist Jean Bolinder. After high school, David spent most of the following decade in the private sector while sporadically unleashing his automotive urges by laying down miles on the race track in open-wheelers. In 2008, he chose to pursue an acting career in Los Angeles, starting with studying the craft at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He has since then worked with artists and filmmakers such as John Saxon, Demian Lichtenstein, Michael Donahue and Patrick Victor Alvarez. Primarily an intense dramatic actor, Imani's comedic prowess is best showcased by uncanny celebrity impersonations and off-the-cuff remarks in a wide variety of languages/accents often seen in his stand-up routine. David also starred in his first self-written/produced short film Frankie and Johnny Discover the Gift, directed by the award-winning Canter Brothers during the 2011 Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah. On the commercial side, David's portfolio includes the brands Lamborghini, Boeing and Patron among others.
