David N. Bossie has served as president of Citizens United and Citizens United Foundation since 2001.Bossie is the former Chief Investigator for the United States House of Representatives Committee on Government Reform and Oversight. During Bill Clinton's two terms as president, he led investigations ranging from the Whitewater land deal to the transfer of dual-use technology to China and to foreign fundraising in the 1996 Clinton re-election campaign. He has authored four books, including the best-selling "Intelligence Failure: How Clinton's National Security Policy Set the Stage for 9/11".Most recently, Citizens United won a landmark First Amendment decision at the United States Supreme Court in "Citizens United vs. Federal Election Commission". The case, which saw the government assert during oral arguments that it had the Constitutional authority to ban political books, struck down two decades of unconstitutional restrictions on free speech.As president of Citizens United Productions, Bossie has produced 21 documentaries since 2004, including the award-winning Ronald Reagan: Rendezvous with Destiny (2009), Broken Promises: The United Nations at 60 (2005), with the late Ron Silver, and Perfect Valor (2000), a documentary narrated by Senator Fred Dalton Thompson, about the service and sacrifices of our troops in Iraq. More recently, Citizens United Productions has done films with Governor Mike Huckabee, The Gift of Life (2012), and Senator Rick Santorum, Our Sacred Honor (2012).In 2010, Citizens United Productions released five documentaries. The first, Generation Zero (2010), is a probing look at the recent financial crisis which posits that the degradation of American cultural, social, and economic values that has taken place since the 1960s, rather than a failure of capitalism, is responsible for the meltdown. "Generation Zero" has been the subject of a one-hour special on FOX News' Hannity (2009), and screened to rave reviews at the National Tea Party Convention and CPAC. The second, narrated by Newt Gingrich and Callista Gingrich, is Nine Days That Changed the World (2010), which chronicles Pope John Paul II's historic 1979 pilgrimage to Poland at the height of the Cold War, his message of faith and freedom to those behind the Iron Curtain, and his role in the fall of Communism. The third, America at Risk (2010), which is also narrated by Newt and Callista Gingrich, looks into the War on Terror and the prosecution of the war by the Obama Administration. The fourth, Fire from the Heartland (2010), is a powerful statement about women in the conservative movement. "Fire from the Heartland" is a highly stylized film of breathtaking beauty and remarkable power. The cast list ranges from Phyllis Schlafly to Congresswoman Michele Bachmann. Finally, the fifth movie, Battle for America (2010), with Dick Morris, the documentary is a no-holds-barred examination of the Obama Administration and Democrat Congress that set out to "transform" America but ended up energizing grassroots Conservatives and lighting the fuse for a populist rebellion called "The Tea Party" movement.In 2012, Citizens United Productions produced the widely-publicized documentaries, Occupy Unmasked (2012) and The Hope & the Change (2012). "Occupy Unmasked" features the late conservative icon Andrew Breitbart, as well as former leftist radicals-turned-patriotic citizen journalists Brandon Darby, David Horowitz, Pam Keys, Anita MonCrief, Mandy Nagy and Lee Stranahan, among others. This film delves beneath the surface of the Occupy movement to show its anarchist roots, led by those who advocate the use of violence and intimidation as protest tactics.
