McFadden came to Dallas after a seven-year career with the Oakland Raiders, who drafted him in the first round (fourth overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft. McFadden left Oakland as the club's sixth-best rusher, totaling 4,247 yards while placing eighth all-time with 25 touchdowns and fourth with 1,038 carries. He began his Cowboys career as a reserve back but took over the starting role for the final 10 games of the 2015 season. He flourished in the starting spotlight, finishing the year with a career-high 239 carries and his second 1,000-yard season (1,089, second in his career and fourth in the league in 2015). In his second season in Dallas, McFadden spent the first four months of the season on Reserve/NFI with an elbow injury. He was activated on Dec. 13 and played in the final three games, starting one.
