Daniel Acon was born January 24, 1958 in Rome Italy, son of William J. Acon, high ranking U.S. Diplomat and political advisor to Presidents Eisenhower, Kennedy, Nixon, Johnson, Ford and Carter. A graduate of Seton Hall University, NJ with a Masters in Communications, Daniel's career has covered a wide range of activities. As a junior executive with Warner Bros Italy, dealing with international print control, his passion for film brought him to Hollywood in the early 80's where he established himself as a Property Master and Art Director. In 1989 he traveled to Rome to work on "The Godfather Part III" as Property Master and was also closely involved with the Special Effects Department headed by effects icon Larry Cavanaugh. This lead to his assignment on Sylvester Stallone's Cliffhanger -- from there his career in special effects expanded and he has specialized in this craft ever since, working from his base in Rome and London. Over the course of the last twenty years, Daniel has risen through the ranks to Coordinating and Supervising a number of U.S. and foreign feature films shot across Europe. His international location work has taken him to North Africa where he spent several years in Morocco supervising the effects on various TV and Feature Film projects, such as Legionnaire and Malena. His work in television has earned two Emmy Award Nominations for Best Special Effects in the HBO series "Rome" and Best Art Direction for "Sting in Tuscany" and a British Royal Television Society Awards Nomination also for Best Special Effects in the HBO series "Rome". Daniel also designed and created special effects for the Chrysler Corporation traveling around the world directing prestigious Auto Shows in Shanghai, Paris and Geneva.
