Daan Schuurmans has been one of the Netherland's most successful leading men for the past two decades.He was born in Rotterdam to Ineke van der Linden, a speech coach who taught him his love for theatre and Ton Schuurmans, a newspaper journalist.When Daan was chosen as a Shooting Star (Europe's leading young talent) at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2003, he was already well known to Dutch audiences through of his starring roles in box-office hits like 'Costa' and 'Floris' .In the next few years, while continuing to perform leading film roles, he played a young lawyer for 3 seasons in the successful television series 'Keyzer & De Boer Advocaten' (2006 - 2008).In 2010, he starred in the acclaimed television series 'Bernhard, Schavuit van Oranje' for which he was nominated for Best Actor at the Monte Carlo Television Festival and 'Annie M.G'.
