Daniel "Reride" Smith was born in Oakland California in 1961. He lived with his family in Seiad Valley California until just short of his 18th birthday.Dan was given the opportunity to learn the importance of family values and the rewards of hard work and commitment. Dan enlisted into the U.S. Army during his senior year of high school. One month after graduation he was shipped to Missouri to begin training. Upon completion of training he spent the remaining six years as an Airborne Ranger stationed at Ft. Bragg North Carolina. He served in Missouri, North Carolina, and Georgia, along with a few exotic locations.Dan left the Army to pursue a career in rodeo, earning three circuit championships in saddle bronc riding. During this time, he was deemed the nick name "Reride" and it has stuck with him to this day.While building his rodeo career, "Reride" began to study psychology and acting in both North Carolina and later Idaho. After moving west in 1996 he built his horse and cattle ranch (High Desert Horses). As a cowboy poet, "Reride" began to perform on stage as well as horseback shows. However, his love for the camera was not complete.Answering casting calls locally he landed several roles in Idaho. "Reride" was then introduced to Sid Yost (Animal Coordinator for Amazing Animals L.L.C.) and was hired as a Pro Wrangler. While working with Sid as a Professional Wrangler alongside cast and crew on the Sony Pictures production of "Underground", "Reride" was recognized for his abilities and asked to perform many stunts in the four months of production, and was eventually cast into the show as an actor.Daniel "Reride" Smith brings his high energy, professional "can do" personality to any project. It has been said that Daniel "Reride" Smith carries the mannerism of Robert Duvall with the voice of Sam Elliot. "Reride" has an abundance of talent in combination with his team player attitude."Reride" has been cast in local television and radio roles, and is an excellent choice for both drama and action productions. Daniel "Reride" Smith has diverse experience working with industry professionals, (human and animals alike), making him an excellent choice for any production project.He can be seen in a lead role produced by Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) called Huck and Polly, and soon "Underground" produced by Sony Pictures.
