Coy A. Lothrop was born in Shreveport, Louisiana but was raised in Northeast Texas where he later attended the University of North Texas as a fine artist. His passion for the arts saw him apply his talents toward painting, sculpture, drawing, photography and later computer graphics and communication design. During his time at the University of North Texas, he was awarded placement in the Dean's List and ranked in the top 5% of his class. He was later nominated to attended the Royal College of Art in London.Coy A. Lothrop began writing for film in 2009 as a means to pursue other creative outlets and to satiate a longing for expressing his vision on film. His first script, Neverland (2010), was purchased by Alex Albrecht of Diggnation and the Totally Rad Show in December of 2009 and later produced and released in the festival circuit in February of 2010. Other accomplishments include numerous contest placements and winnings, as well as sales and options for other film scripts and film treatments. He has sold to major corporations and production companies though non-disclosure agreements seal many of their identities.The work of Coy A. Lothrop is often described as "real" and having the effect of tapping into core threads of humanity an audience can easily associate with. His writing style is very vivid and detailed, and emotes well to both the reader and the director, yet is executed with a sensitivity to word economy and pacing. He commands a true understanding of storytelling structure. Recommendations from those he's worked with include, "His range is amazing" and "His talent is undeniable." Last, but not least, he's the nicest guy you'll ever encounter.As of October 2011, Coy holds a position within his own company, Cypress Interactive, where he is an active Partner and serves as the Creative Director and Director of Operations.
