An avid film fan and cinefile, Cory Michael Dawson began working in a video store and studied the films audiences were drawn most to and enjoyed. He then started working independently for television channels such as Channel 7, Channel 9, Channel 10, Foxtel and the ABC before venturing into his own films and becoming an award-nominated short film writer, director and producer.In October 2015, Dawson's short film 'Injurious' was selected as 1 of the Top 5 horror short films in the country by Warner Brothers Australia. It would later play in cinemas at Warner Brother's Movie World on the Gold Coast, Queensland as part of 'Fright Night'. Dawson was the youngest director with a film selected by Warner Brothers as well as the only from his state of Victoria.February 2016, Dawson sold his entire film collection, which was in the thousands, as well as his rare film memorabilia to move to Los Angeles, California and be mentored by actor Andy McPhee.His idols are Quentin Tarantino, David Fincher and Martin Scorsese.
