Corey Champagne was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga the "Entertainment Capital of the South", where his desire to fulfill a career in Film & Music took shape. Named after character Corey Baker of the groundbreaking 60s series 'Julia', it seems that from birth he was destined for the spotlight. Already naturally talented, Corey credits his formal acting training to the renowned Alliance Theatre starting at age six. While attending Alliance he was cast as a Junior Player in 'The Case of the Missing Metaphors'. Musically, Corey's influences stem from the classic sounds of Donny Hathaway & Al Green as well as contemporary acts like John Legend, TLC and Justin Nozuka. As a 2010 graduate of North Springs Arts & Science Charter School(alumni include Usher & Raven-Symone), Corey immersed himself in multiple facets of the arts including Drama,Chorus, Photography, Broadcasting and Musical Theatre. He also began writing his own songs and utilized his soulful baritone vocals towards classical, jazz, rock & even ragtime compositions. In 2009, Corey was chosen one of only 10 select student composers for the John Lennon Tour Bus where he co-wrote & starred in a PSA for the original song entitled 'Dream On'. Fiercely determined to be heard, Corey performed every chance he got. Notably, in 2010 he successfully won over the notorious crowd at the World Renowned Apollo Theatre in Harlem,NY. During his first year of college at Florida A&M University, Corey worked under the tutelage of Dr. Kwachi Clemons & Hip-Hop Pioneer Christopher "Play" Martin for the schools budding Hip-Hop Institute. In 2012, Corey Champagne transferred to Georgia State University to study Film & Video and secured an internship with Celebrity Photographer Derek Blanks. That same year, Corey a starred as the character Tony in his first short film entitled 'Crossroads' (Studio 11 Films). In addition to various local theater productions, Corey has been featured in Rolling Out Magazine, on Food Network and Nickelodeon: Double Dare. In 2013, he completed work on 'The Tree Widow' directed by television veteran Alison Mills-Newman and was featured as a "walker" on AMC's Top Rated show 'The Walking Dead'. Mr. Champagne resides in Metro Atlanta, where he takes weekly acting classes to keep his skills sharp. Some of his credits include a featured role as a Jazz Singer on The CW original series 'The Originals and short films 'Shoot Brother' & 'Into the Good Night'. Show less «
