One of the foremost theatre interpreters of Samuel Beckett's the Irish actor Conor Lovett is joint artistic director of internationally acclaimed theatre company Gare St Lazare Ireland. US Playwright Will Eno also wrote his 2011 play Title and Deed for Conor who performed it to great acclaim internationally at Signature Theatre, New York (2012), at Edinburgh Festival 2014 and at The Print Room London 2015.Born in Dublin, Ireland Conor grew up in Cork and moved to Paris where he trained at Ecole Jacques Lecoq and eventually settled.Though primarily known for his award winning Beckett performances in theatre, Conor made his television debut as a recovering alcoholic in Father Ted: The Mainland (1998). His feature debut was in Moll Flanders (1996) directed by Pen Densham .While he continues to develop and tour his Beckett theatre performances Conor has also begun to focus more strongly on the screen and recently appeared in Endeavour: Coda (2016) for ITV and directed by Olly Blackburn and has worked with director Martha Coolidge on Music, War and Love (2017) where he plays a German General in a thrilling scene with Stellan Skarsgård For TV he has just finished filming Season 2 of Versailles (2015) in France.In his native Ireland he played the role of real life Dublin politician Jim Tunney in Charlie (2014) alongside Aidan Gillen and he also played a shy folk musician in Small Engine Repair (2006) with 'Glen Iain' and the late 'Tom Jordan Murphy'.
