Colin A. Ross received his MD from the University of Alberta in 1981 and completed his training in psychiatry at the University of Manitoba in 1985. In 1991 he moved to the Dallas area, where he has been running a hospital Trauma Program ever since. He also consults to hospital Trauma Programs in Michigan and California. Dr. Ross is the author of 30 books and 225 professional papers; besides his extensive psychiatric writings, his work includes essays, fiction, poetry, aphorisms and screenplays. Dr. Ross has appeared in a variety of documentary films and is the sole owner of Manitou Communications, a multi-media publishing company which has produced books and educational DVDs on psychological trauma. He is also a minority owner of two production companies based in Canada: Greenboat Productions (Toronto), and Manitou Entertainment (Toronto).
