Colin McHugh was born on July 10, 1982 in St. Mary's County, Maryland to Brian and Deborah McHugh and is an only child. The McHugh family relocated from Brooklyn, New York City to Southern Maryland where he grew up in the country on the Potomac River.Growing up, he was full of energy, always the class clown, and somewhat troublesome - but used that energy by pursuing sports such as baseball, basketball, and football. However, Colin's true passion has always been movies and filmmaking due to watching old Humphrey Bogart films with his father. After high school, Colin joined the Merchant Marines - working on cruise ships, traveling the world, meeting many people, and experiencing many cultures.After moving to Baltimore, Maryland for college, Colin began to pursue his dream of being an actor and independent filmmaker.Although having no formal acting training, Colin's career hit the ground running immediately with a number of lead roles in independent short films and strong supporting characters on the stage with local Baltimore theater companies.
