Colin Curwen has been producing commercial animation and independent productions in Calgary, Alberta, Canada since 2001.A life-long fan of classical and CGI animation, Colin received his CGI character animation certificate in Maya at Mesmer Studios in Seattle, WA, in 2000 before completing his classical animation training at Applied Multimedia in Calgary in 2001. After producing commercial projects for a few years he founded New Machine Studios in the historic Barron building in downtown Calgary in 2003.New Machine Studios' first original production, 'How Raven Stole the Sun', has gone on to win more than 30 awards at film festivals and competitions around the world, and launched the animated television series, Raven Tales, which airs on the Smithsonian network in the US and APTN in Canada.Colin continues to produce content for television, games and independent distribution platforms at New Machine Studios. The studio is working on a slate of low-budget animated feature films that includes 'RavenTales: The Movie', 'The Wizard's Christmas', 'The Wizard's Christmas II: Return of the Snow King', 'Spirit Tales' and 'The Adventures of Maximillion Bacchus and His Traveling Circus' based upon the book by Clive Barker (in development).
