Christy Johnson is an up-and-coming triple threat in the film, stage, and music industries. She has been submerged in the arts since she was six months old when her parents started her off in print modeling and pageants. She went on to acquire the title of Miss Junior Greensboro. She had her first leading role in community theatre in sixth grade and soon fell in love with musical theatre, which she studied through high school and college before earning her MA and BA from UNCG. She has performed in several professional musical theatre productions, though her current acting concentration is more focused on film, television, commercials and music videos. Her most notable film roles include "Judy Hartley" in Night of the Living Dead: Genesis (2020), "Dottie" in Tobe Hooper's Mortuary (2005), "Faith" in The Gospel According to Booze, Bullets & Hot Pink Jesus, Act III: Have Faith, Will Travel (2012), "Loraine" in Orbs: They Are Among Us (2013), "Lucifer" in Hatchet County (2012), and "Scary Carrie Carmichael" in the current series and feature film Ghost Trek.An accomplished athlete, Christy is a National gold medalist in three sports: Karate, Quad Speed Skating and Inline Speed Skating. She started practicing martial arts at age three, and went on to earn her second degree black belt. She studied five different types, but Karate and Kickboxing are her favorites. She was a State Games Gold Medalist for five consecutive years, as well as a Gold Medalist at the National Karate Junior Olympics. She was even awarded Athlete of The Year for NC Girls and Women in Sports and has been an Olympic Torch Bearer. She ran track for several years and lettered in it in high school. Her school's team won the state championship and she individually went to the Regional competition in the Junior Olympics. As a competitive speed skater with the Piedmont Speed Team, she is a two time Gold Medalist in the National Quad Speed Skating Junior Olympics, as well as a National Champion for inline speed skating. She hopes to incorporate all of this into her acting as she loves action films and portraying strong characters with movement abilities. It helps that she also has experience with weapons and firearms. Her experience as a vocalist goes back to the age of two, when she had memorized all of the commercial jingles on television and would sing along. She began choral training in fifth grade and was a member of her school's top auditioned ensemble/show choir in eighth grade. Later, she sang with the Gold Madrigals at Grimsley High School, and performed at Carnegie Hall, as well as two international tours in Europe. A notable solo performance was when she sang for the 75th Anniversary celebration of the Carolina Theatre, entitled "Thrill of The Showplace". She went on to form Dreamkiller [2011 Independent Artist Music Awards Rock Band Of The Year], a melodic hard rock band that presents elements of soulful melodies, jazzy harmonies, catchy rock hooks and prides themselves on colorful lyrics that include positive themes of strength, perseverance, conquering your fears head-on, as well as pushing with no limits to accomplish your goals. Through that endeavor she has been recognized with numerous awards, including 2010 Los Angeles Music Awards National Female Vocal Performer of The Year and 2013 International Music & Entertainment Awards Rock Female Vocalist of The Year. Music from Dreamkiller has been featured in 13 different films so far, many of which have been released worldwide and have also won numerous awards. Their track "Lyrik's Battle" was named as #7 of the Top 10 Most Requested Tracks of 2012 on the nationally syndicated FM/internet broadcast Rock Solid Pressure Show. They have played the main stage of Rockapalooza, performed at the Vans Warped Tour, toured nationally, including numerous music conferences in support of their full-length concept album "Sleepless Dreams", and worked on their album "Love vs. Dreams" with Grammy award winning producer, Toby Wright. Recently, they have ventured on a Canadian tour with plans to span worldwide. Look out for their upcoming full length concept album, "11:11".
