Christopher Morley was an actor and female impersonator who specialized in cross-dressing roles in the 1970s and '80s. He is best known for his turn as the crook-in-drag in Freebie and the Bean (1974) and an appearance in a recurring role on General Hospital (1963) in 1980. Morley's character was a friend of Laura, and attracted the flirtatious interest of Luke. The role was played straight until Morley's character finally revealed that "she" was a man. This was possibly the influence for Larry Gelbart's screenplay for Tootsie (1982) (1982), in which Dustin Hoffman played an actor who gets a job on a soap opera by impersonating a woman. Show less «
