Chris Maslen (Born Christopher Ryan Maslen), was born in Kansas City, MO but grew up in Seattle, WA. As the son of two medical professionals, he led a very privileged life in his adolescence, which inevitably led to bouts of hyperactivity that were difficult to contain. His parents enrolled him in his first drama class when he was ten years old at The Seattle Children's Theatre, and he was instantly hooked. Chris returned to SCT every year until he was 18 to take part in their Summerstage Programs and eventually their intensive Young Actor's Institute--which subsequently led to his matriculation at Seattle's esteemed Cornish College of the Arts. He received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting with an emphasis on Original Works (Playwriting/Directing). To this day, Chris credits the theatrical community of Seattle for being his primary source of artistic inspiration. As a professional, Chris has appeared in a handful of films, and has worked with several respected regional theatres along the West Coast (Including The Seattle Shakespeare Company, Rubicon Theatre Company in California, and the Oregon Shakespeare Festival). He is an avid writer and illustrator, former musician--having received several commendations/awards for his work before exclusively turning to acting--and he additionally performed stand-up comedy all over the greater Seattle area. While he garnered a decent amount of acclaim for this venture, he walked away after five years of experimentation to focus on other artistic endeavors. He has expressed interest in one day returning to both music and comedy when he felt the time was right. Show less «
