He also worked at KWTX-TV in Waco (1968-70); at the ABC affiliate in El Paso (1970-71), where he was Texas' youngest news director/anchor; and at Houston's KHOU-TV (1984-87). Had a cameo role as a news anchor in two Oliver Stone films, Talk Radio (1988) and Born on the Fourth of July (1989).
