As a child Cherie's mother would take her to Saturday matinees and it was the one place she found escape from the small town she grew up. Her love of the cinema grew; but, life had other plans as she became a teacher. She used film as a tool to teach her students in foreign countries English as a second language. She made her first student film in Germany while teaching Videography for the Department of Defense Schools. During her time overseas, Cherie appeared in numerous Armed Forces Network commercials. Upon returning to the United States she put all her efforts into her children. Her daughter, Elizabeth Ashley Lawson, decided to start acting. After appearing along with her daughter on "One Tree Hill" she decided that she would rather work behind the camera. She started the ASET Casting Company where on her first project, "Racing Nowhere", she cast 200 actors including the extras. She knew then she had found her calling. Cherie is the daughter of Charlie and Ann Pressley. She was born in Concord, North Carolina. She graduated at Northwest Cabarrus High School and is an alumna of Gardner-Webb University where she studied World History and Drama. Cherie is the wife of retired USAF Tech Sgt. Dale R. Lawson, mother of Erik J. Lawson, and Elizabeth Ashley Lawson. She is the grandmother of the 3. Of the many awards she has received in her life from schools and the United States government, it is her family she is most proud. She is very involved with her charities that promote Worldwide Victim Abuse Awareness and Gulf War Veterans. She gives credit to God and her family for their continued support. Her passion and drive is unquestionable as is her love of the industry. Show less «
