Growing up in Michigan, Charlie had big Hollywood dreams of one day becoming a Production Assistant for a couple of weeks on the set of a critically disappointing and commercially disastrous major motion picture in sunny Los Angeles, CA.In August of 2005, not yet 20 years old, Charlie silenced the naysayers and shattered all expectations by fulfilling this lifelong dream... and then some! Not only did he work as Set Production Assistant on a major motion picture, Southland Tales, but he also made his professional acting debut in the same film, appearing in ~1 second of the final theatrical cut of the film alongside the actor who played Booger in Revenge of the Nerds (a childhood hero of Charlie's who coincidentally is also from the Detroit area). There were some other people and a couple monkeys involved in the scene, as well. As of this writing, Southland Tales has a 38% Tomatometer rating, and appears to have made ~$227,365 at the box office (per Rotten Tomatoes). Its estimated budget was ~$15 million.Having succeeded beyond his wildest dreams, and not wanting his meteoric rise to go to his head, Charlie "Hollywood" Collier hung up his production assisting and acting boots for good in September of 2005, leaving the glitz and glamour of his lavish showbiz lifestyle behind him forever.
