Charles Mueller was born near South Bend, Indiana, and was in "Beyond Our Control," for two seasons, 1974-75, as an actor, voice-over pitchman, and art director.At Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana he worked in commercial radio on the air and writing ads. In Chicago, Illinois, he was a WGN News copy assistant, bouncer at "The Second City," nightclub, wrangler at a thoroughbred stable, stage mechanic and carpenter for The Goodman Theater, and a day-player in the motion picture The Package, and in the TV series Crime Story and Jack & Mike.Charles was a news writer for United Press International. In magazines, he was associate editor for down beat magazine, and as a freelance writer wrote fiction about life on the street and features for the free weekly Chicago Reader, and on Chicago theater, aeronautics and architecture history, high-rise period building renovation, the lives of rodeo stars, dressage, fencing, symphony music, toxic waste, and labor relations in other publications, and documentary narrations for children's film, industrial films, trade show skits, and a play adapting Anais Nin for the off-Loop theater.Charles works for a privately held, diversified financial services firm that engages in investment banking, capital markets services, investment management, and investment advisory, and is an aspiring MFA candidate in the Digital Cinema program at DePaul University, studying writing and directing.Presently he is a Second Assistant Director (1994), and as of 2011, a Director in the Director's Guild of America.
