He is mostly English, Irish, German, French and Cherokee. His first name is Casey, which means "brave" in Irish. Some of his hobbies consist of playing golf, fishing and being outdoors hiking\mountain biking and the like.Casey wanted to be an actor and filmmaker ever since he could remember. He was inspired with both movies and television when he was little along with Saturday morning cartoons and drive-in movies. Influenced by several directors and stories; he gravitated most to the eye and storytelling of Steven Spielberg films. Casey's growing passion for filmmaking intertwined with his love of reading\collecting comic books and the art of storytelling. His first opportunity to be on a film set was for the studio feature film, Cherry Falls (2000), as background. He worked alongside with Brittany Murphy for several weeks during production. This experience was life altering for him, in a good way. Some years later, after working in retail management\sales and with a lack of filmmaking opportunities; Casey moved out west to southern California, San Diego, where he worked part-time in restaurants\bars while going to school. He obtained his degree in film at San Diego State University(SDSU). Casey also studied acting for theatre\film. He landed his first speaking role for an independent feature, Bullets, Fangs and Dinner at 8 (2015). The production went on for a few years with Casey reprising his role as "James the Vampire Hunter". He also found his way behind the camera doing camera work, sound mixing, gaffing, gripping and contributed financially.During college, Casey helped pioneer San Diego State University's first film society mentoring new and aspiring film students as Vice President for the society's first year. He also taught youths, 7-12 years old, the basics of filmmaking and stop-motion filmmaking for a private performing arts studio. Casey has written, directed, produced and 1st assistant directed several films. A short horror film, The Apparition (2014), in which he co-created, produced, 1st assistant directed and acted in was selected by Cannes as a part of their Short Film Corner in 2014. The short film was also awarded\partially funded by a grant from Kathleen Kennedy along with funds raised by family, friends and the community of San Diego.Casey Nicholas Price continues to sharpen and master his craft by freelancing film work between San Diego and Los Angeles and wherever a production can use his skill sets. He's an advocate for the use of film over digital and maintains his core values of hard work and working well with people in what can be sometimes a stressful environment. Casey excels as a 1st AD and will soon be applying for the DGA Trainee program in hopes to take the next step in his filmmaking career. In the meantime, you can find him on a film set in some role to help production move forward or working on his next script. Casey also travels out to Park City, Utah yearly where he volunteers for the Sundance Film Festival full-time.
