Indie rock singer/songwriter Cary Brothers was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. Brothers played piano from ages eleven to thirteen before switching to the guitar. Cary first met actor/writer/director Zach Braff while attending Northwestern University in the 90's. Following graduation from college both Cary and Braff moved to Los Angeles, California. Brothers began performing around Los Angeles at such venues as the Hotel Cafe and made a big splash in 2004 with the beautifully moving ballad "Blue Eyes," which was featured on the soundtrack to Braff's acclaimed independent picture "Garden State." Cary's debut EP CD "All the Rage" sold over 10,000 copies. Brothers released the follow-up EP CD "Waiting for Your Letter" in 2005. His songs have been featured on the soundtracks to the movies "Noel," "Sky High," "SherryBaby," and "The Last Kiss," plus episodes of the TV shows "One Tree Hill," "Kylie XY," "Eli Stone," "Grey's Anatomy," "Hidden Palms," "Bones," and "Scrubs" (Cary also appeared as himself on an episode of this particular program). Cary was an associate producer for the films "Dill Scallion" and "Sparkler." In 2007 Brothers released his first full length album "Who You Are;" the album received highly favorable reviews from critics and was cited as the Best Rock Album of 2007 by the Indie Acoustic Project. He has toured in both Canada and America alike with such artists as Liz Phair, KT Turnstall, Aqualung, Ben Lee, Imogen Heap, Matt Nathanson, and The Fray. His musical influences include everything from 80's British New Wave music to 70's folk music. Cary Brothers released "Under Control" in April, 2010. Show less «
