Carmen Barika was bred in the exciting culturally-rich environment of New Orleans where she explored and honed her talents in the arts of music, voice, and musical theater. After graduating with a music degree with a certificate in opera performance, she moved to New York City where she performed Off-Broadway while also self-producing her original performance pieces including her one woman Burlesque show The XXXotica Review and her full length musical of the same name which was featured in the 2006 New York Fringe Festival. In 2011, Carmen was featured as a singer in The Paperboy and its accompanying soundtrack and was again featured as a singer in Pawnshop Chronicles in 2012. Carmen has also lent her voiceover talents to movie Varla Jean Merman and the Mushroomheads in which she portrayed the voice of little Varla Jean and she can also be seen on Russian TV series Bolshoi Jazz (filmed in Moscow) as a featured singer and personality.
