Carlos Canton is a Mexican/Canadian Actor. He began a stage career in his native Merida, Yucatan, Mexico where he attended the Fine Arts Institute of Yucatan and began his studies in Theatre and Dance. Carlos toured Mexico with a wide variety of professional Dance/ Theatre Companies performing in local, national and International Performing Arts Festivals such as: Theatre Festival Wilberto Canton ( Yucatan), International Dance Summit held in Mexico City in 1995 and as a co choreographer in the 2001 at Avant- Garde Festival ( Yucatan). He moved to Vancouver, Canada in 2003 where he continued working in cultural projects supported by Canada Council for the Arts and toured this country with them. He also continued his training as an Actor taking workshops at VADA and also private coaching. In 2007 he toured Canada playing the roles of : "John A Mac Donald",, " Norbert Welsh" and "The Executioner" The with Vni Dansi Company in the Dance/ Theatre piece: " The Crossing". In 2008 he booked the role : " Participant 1" of the Skoda Octavia Consumer Research Commercial. After taking a break in his career, Carlos started performing again in 2012 and toured Canada facilitating dance workshops for native communities in British Columbia and Ontario. In 2015 Carlos was honored with a "sash" from the Metis Dance Company Vni Dansi which is symbolic high honor given to an artist for his accomplishment and dedication to any Art form in that community. That same year Carlos was featured at the Canada Place Billboard in Vancouver, BC in the promotional for St Jean Baptiste Celebrations ( A French Canadian National Festivity). Carlos has performed at the Canadian Opera Free Concert Series in Toronto( 2017), Queer Arts Festival in Vancouver ( 2017), Interplay in Vancouver ( 2017), Vancouver International Dance Festival (2013) and World Urban Forum in Vancouver ( 2006). In 2018 Carlos relocated to Toronto, Canada where he decided to exclusively to focus in his acting career. Since then he has booked regional projects as an actor such as: Mackenzie Academy , Kotak Law, Lifestyle and Big Wreck music video. He can be seen on a Principal Actor's role as " Frank Ramirez" in the new TV series : " Hotel Paranormal" : Episode: Paranormal Predator and as Detective Lyle Johnston in Homicide Hours to Kill S2 E 15.
