Born in sunny Southern California under the cozy spotlight of tinsel town to Armando Contreras (entertainment Grip) and Diana Contreras in Torrance California. Carla started her professional acting career at the ripe age of three selling Barbie Dolls and Tootsie Rolls; from eleven to sixteen she regularly worked on the TV series, 'The Waltons.' She left the business to finish her formal education and after receiving a degree in business, Carla ventured back to Hollywood to train at The Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute where she discovered her singing voice. Upon an invitation to visit Nashville's Music Row, Carla fell in love with Tennessee and decided to stay in 1992 to pursue music and have a quality of life she couldn't find in Los Angeles. Carla Co-Founded the Actors Alliance for the Nashville Film & Video Association, and has been a constant force in helping to build the film community we see today in Nashville.A member and Board of Director of SAG-AFTRA / FilmNashville / Women in Film & TV Nashville and Actor-Com, Carla continues to help other creative artists grow and prosper in the mid-west region. She is working on a Live Action Animated Musical web series, a handful of indie projects, producing her first short film, and has developed a situation comedy for network TV (being pitched now).Carla is married to Timothy E. Rumsey.Carla is also a world renowned visual artist. Her works can be seen in various permanent collections as well as private. She is also the author of the children's book Clint the Black Cat.
