Burt Culver came back to acting through luck and intuition. A native of Seattle, Culver was working as an IT professional in Sydney, Australia when he came across a brochure for a screen acting course which was sitting on a co-worker's desk. Culver had acted in grade school, writing and performing with friends in skits, and this brochure reminded him of that early love. Auditions for the course were to be held that weekend and Culver knew this was more than a coincidence. He signed up to audition immediately. That first audition landed him in Australia's number one screen acting school, NIDA. Not bad considering there were only 16 spots and Culver competed against hundreds of other aspiring actors. After the course, Culver continued honing his craft by taking classes and acting in both film and television in Australian and New Zealand for a few years. Then in 2011, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue his acting career full-time. He enrolled in the Upright Citizens Brigade improv training program, as well as ongoing training with Lesly Kahn & Company.Culver is quickly getting to work in L.A. as evidenced by the more than 25 roles held from January to June 2012. Add to these the 12 features, shorts, and the commercials and PSAs completed in 2011, and you've got yourself one busy actor. This dedication is paying off: Culver will play the lead and a supporting role in two feature films in summer 2012.In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing, hiking and surfing.
