Bruce was born in the mountains of North Carolina, Asheville. He grew up there longing to find out what the big city was all about. After finishing at University of South Carolina, he moved immediately to New York City, where, the moment he arrived he declared that he would never live anywhere else. While in NY, he trained extensively in tap/jazz/ballet and lots of acting classes, and vocal coaching. Aside from off Broadway stage plays, he started doing television (soap operas) and commercials. On a whim, after being there for 10 years, he took a road trip to CA, and within two months he had moved to the west coast. Commercials became the thing for him in Los Angeles, and in the late 80's, they were very lucrative. He also worked for NBC, because he never believed that "suffering for your art" was all that healthy. After a brief stint back in NY, he returned to the west coast where there's nothing like that sun all year round. He started working in television, and then film, and although he considers himself a lazy actor, in terms of networking and making things happen for him, he still loves the process of film and television more than anything.
