Brittany Inge was born to Betty Kirby and Riley Inge in Philadelphia, PA before spending her formative years in Laurel, MD, where her mother Betty raised her as a single parent. From an early age, Brittany was active in the arts, performing with Philadelphia's Freedom Theatre and being "forced" to sing for the customers at her Aunt Carolyn's hair salon all before the age of 7. Brittany won her first songwriting award at age eight for a song titled: "Friends at Last", which she submitted to a local youth songwriter's competition created by Anne Arundel County Maryland.Brittany attended Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC, where she studied vocal technique for 3 years, after she began attending as a sophomore. After graduating in the top five of her high school class, Brittany received an acceptance letter to attend Spelman College in Atlanta, GA.At Spelman, Brittany was an active member of the Spelman College Glee Club; serving as President in her senior year. Her time in the glee club gave her the opportunity to sing for and with legendary musical artists, including Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Holiday and Stevie Wonder. At her college graduation, Brittany had the honor of singing as a soloist for her commencement speaker, former First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama.After graduating cum laude with a BA in Music, Brittany decided to remain in Atlanta, Georgia. She began studying the craft of acting heavily and soon found herself receiving mentorship from several acclaimed actors, including Cassi Davis, Terri J. Vaughn, Pauletta Washington and LaTanya Richardson-Jackson. Brittany continued to study and hone her acting skills, eventually landing her the role of "Rebecca" in the cast of Broken, written by Paris Crayton III, which exposed her to much of Atlanta's local theatre community. Since then, Brittany has worked at The Alliance Theatre as an understudy for the roles of "Cece Winans" & "Mom Winans" in Born For This: The BeBe Winans Story. Her work in that production lead to the roles of "Vanessa" in Significant Other (Actor's Express), "Lady in Purple" in for colored girls... (Independent Artists' Playhouse) and "Jesus H. Christ" in Sincerity Forever (Vernal & Sere Theatre Company). Brittany has also had the privilege of being directed onstage by Atlanta Phenom, Hilda Willis and Mark E. Swinton, of Tyler Perry Studios.After dedicating much of her acting chops to the theater stage, Brittany has begun to expand more seriously into Film and Television! Patrick Ryan via Aligned Stars Agency currently represents her for projects cast in the Southeast region. Brittany's recent work includes a commercial for Aaron's Furniture and a Co-Star role, as the character "Monie", on the STARZ network's hit series: "Survivor's Remorse". In May, Brittany will be returning to the Actor's Express stage as "Penny" in Suzan-Lori Park's Father Comes Home from the Wars (Parts 1, 2 & 3).Brittany is SAG Eligible and a proud EMC Member.
