Was formerly lead singer of popular Australian rock group Uncanny X-Men. This was a Melbourne-based band which had a lot of success between about 1983 and 1986, then seemed to suddenly disappear. Brian Mannix was a classic rock band frontman - extrovert and energetic - in the ilk of Iggy Pop or Mick Jagger. The band's material was a bit light, though, and some felt their arrogance quickly got the better of them. Tunes included "Everybody's got to work (oh no, not me)", and "Fifty Years".
