Brendan began his filmmaking career armed with a Super 8 camera and a burning desire to shoot film. He also had a brief stint as a child actor, which included a small role in the Oz movie classic "Mad Max". Ultimately his real passion lay behind the camera. Brendan graduated from the Australian Film Television and Radio School majoring in cinematography and film direction. His graduation film, "Wild Planet" (1989) went on to win a number of local and international awards and launched Brendan into a diverse filmmaking career which saw him working as cinematographer and editor on an array of award winning films, music videos and television commercials, which then evolved into a successful career as a director working in film, television and commercials. Brendan combines his work as a commercials director with various filmmaking projects including a number of successful documentaries including, "You Only Live Twice - The Incredibly True Story of The Hughes Family" (2010) The film also picked up an AFI (Australian Film Institute) Award for Best Documentary under an hour at the 2010 AFI Awards. His other documentary credits include: "The Two Of Us" (2006); "Love and Anarchy - The Wild World Of Jaime Leonarder" (2002) for SBS. And "Conspiracy" (1997) for Australia's Ten Network, produced by Oracle Pictures with Alex Proyas and Andrew Mason of Mystery Clock Cinema. His relationship comedy short film, "Three Chords And A Wardrobe" (1998) was another hit on the international festival circuit including being voted "Best Australian short film" at the 1998 Sydney Film Festival.Recently Brendan has been dividing his time working as a freelance commercials director in both Australia and throughout South-East Asia working with clients in Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand, while developing a number of feature film and television projects.
